When did you first develop an interest in finance?

I initially I developed an interest in my industry after completing finance and business work experience which took place on Spring pod. It gave me a great depth of knowledge and allowed me to network with a wide range of industry’s experts which was an incredibly valuable opportunity.

What attracted you to Springpod, how was your experience of using it and how did it affect your career direction?

I was made known of Springpod through a friend who had completed some work experience with them and they thought it was a great opportunity as you got great experience for free and you could do it virtually which was a bonus during COVID.

I had a great experience using Springpod as we had some great speakers as well as some fantastic interactive tasks which helped put our theory knowledge from the speakers towards work. From this work experience it guided me to where I am now which is on a PwC flying start degree apprenticeship based in Belfast.

What advice would you give someone considering an apprenticeship?

The advice I’d give to someone who’s considering apprenticeships is to do you’re research on the firm and course you’re applying to, work hard towards you’re applications through relevant work experience with company’s such as Springpod and to apply to a range of different firms as interviews are tough and with more applications it betters you’re chances of getting an offer.
